Most of you have heard by now that the iconic sensation that is Lady Gaga has been very open and honest about the chronic illness she is suffering with; Fibromyalgia. In her new documentary ‘FiveFootTwo’ (on Netflix) Stefani allows ‘behind the scenes’ access not only to her music and tour but into her home, where it is obvious to see the pain she is in. Luckily enough for her, she has the money to spend on expensive and extensive treatment as well as being surrounded by professionals on a daily basis that offer her alternatives for the pain. Stefani is also able to openly smoke medicated marijuana.
As a sufferer of this dreadful disease myself I am so envious yet happy that she is making headlines; finally our voices can be heard after so many years of being ignored or told we are ‘faking it’. Maybe someone will listen now? Maybe our suffering won’t be ignored by Doctors any longer? Maybe we won’t be medicated by an addictive pill that often makes other symptoms worse? Who knows? But I am more than happy to allow Lady Gaga to take centre stage for something we have been fighting so passionately about for years. Stefani is an inspiration to us all, both musically and as a person. She has finally allowed us to see who she really is and if you follow her on Instagram, as I do, you will be blessed with regular updates, LIVE feeds and images of different ways she copes & deals with it all.

We can not rule out the curious period in which this disease resolved to manifest itself in its maximum potential. I heard people who had traveled miles to Rio de Janeiro to attend one of her rare concerts here in Brazil (ROCK IN RIO) and all this happened; Maroon 5 was chosen to replace her. Most recently, my best friend confidentially revealed that he was developing early stages of Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disorder, an inherited disease and, so far, untreatable, that progressively drains the nerves of our body and leaves us unable to move 100%. There is a cellular treatment that helps to denigrate the symptoms but, according to him, the ingredients for such are considered illegal in the United States and it is exceptionally only used as REJUVENATING CREAM….. Frankly.
