New Apple PC1
By - Posted 16th January, 2018 at 9:12 am The Real World

Computers are a big part of the everyday lives of many people. We check our emails, play games and create masterpieces of work on them everyday. Where would we be without them? Apple have released a new computer that costs nearly £5,000! Want to know more about it? Then click that “Read More” button!

Apple have always been known to release very pricey products, such as their iPhones, iPads, iMacs and MacBooks! Last year they had finally released their most expensive smartphone yet – the iPhone X, which costs just one penny off £1,000! But that’s not what I’d like to talk to you about today.

Apple have released a special iMac computer designed for professionals. It’s their most powerful computer yet: the iMac Pro!

Specs

It has a 5K 27-inch retina display, with an 8-core 3.2 GHz processor, a Vega 56 graphics processor, 32GBs of memory and a 1TB SSD storage! There are more options available for the processor, the graphics, the memory and the storage, so if you want more power out of your iMac Pro, you can customise the specs to your liking. Also, there’s a 1080p Facetime HD Camera, stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The iMac Pro runs MacOS High Sierra, which is the latest MacOS software out at the moment.

The essential ports on the back of the iMac Pro are:

  • 4 Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports
  • 4 USB 3 ports
  • Ethernet port
  • SDXC Card slot.

For input (keyboard and mouse), you will get a:

  • Space Grey Magic Keyboard with a Numeric Pad
  • Space Grey Magic Mouse 2
  • (Optional) Space Grey Magic Trackpad

The iMac Pro has 802.11ac Wi-Fi wireless networking and Bluetooth 4.2 wireless technology.

Price

The iMac Pro’s price starts at a whopping £4,899, but that’s without the configurations. If you were to configure your computer to have the high-end specs, it would cost you £12,428!

Opinion

Now that I have talked about the facts about the iMac Pro, I’d like to share with you my opinions. I think that this computer sounds very awesome and powerful, it’s beautifully designed! I just wish it was also available in white. However, I feel that it’s way too expensive. I feel that there’s a possibility that I could get a computer just as good, maybe even better for less than £5,000. It’s money that could be spent somewhere else on more important hardware and software.

It’s also quite funny how Apple have included their 3.5mm headphone jack on their iMac Pro. When I think about how they said that it was dated on their iPhone back when they released the iPhone 7, it makes me wonder why they aren’t using lightning ports for their desktop computers.

What do you think about the iMac Pro? Would you spend at least £4,899 on it? Let me know in the comments section below and make sure to like this article!
