Workplace Woes!1

Jobs, careers and responsibilities. What do they all have in common? Everyone has to have them. Whether you’re young and in school, or an adult with years of workplace experience already. I’ve already prepared some important tips for everyone.

Work can be a stressful time, especially if you work in retail or fast food. Maybe it’s the customers, maybe you ran out of stock or perhaps it’s your boss nagging you all shift. While some workplace stress is normal, excessive stress can interfere with your productivity and performance which may impact your physical and emotional health. You can’t control everything in your work environment, but that doesn’t mean you’re powerless, even when you’re stuck in a difficult situation. Here are some steps to help!

Social contact is nature’s antidote to stress. Talking face to face with a good listener can help to quickly calm your nervous system and relieve stress. For example, talking to your best friend. You may not have them at the same job, but you can take steps to be more sociable with your coworkers. When you take a break, for example, instead of immediately going on your phone, try engaging in conversation. When stress is mounting at work, try to take a quick break and move away from the stressful situation. Take a stroll outside the workplace, if possible. Physical movement can help you regain your balance.

Your food choices can have a huge impact on how you feel during the work day. Eating small, frequent and healthy meals can really keep energy and focus up, while also avoiding mood swings. Eating nothing can make you feel anxious and irritable, while eating too much can make you lazy. Avoid nicotine. Smoking when you’re feeling stressed may seem calming, but it leads to higher, not lower, levels of anxiety. Also, try to improve the quality of your sleep by keeping a regular sleep schedule and aiming for 7-8 hours a night.

There are many more tips online if you wish to read more into this!

You can even apply this information to other situations like school or social gatherings. Hope it helps!

As i commented in another article, im on a diet at the moment. I am feeling MUCH more energized and positive throughout the day because I’m not eating all the junk i was before. It pays off to be healthy by just cutting out the bad foods 🙂
