As you all will know, Habbo Hotel recently introduced a safety lock feature to the site. This safety lock was to ensure that only you could access your account by restricting login to your IP address. If someone attempted to log into your account from another computer and the safety lock was enabled on your account, vital account features such as changing your account details and trading would be blocked until you clicked a link in a email
Ever since this feature was introduced, it has caused problems for many users that used it. Some people have been locked out of their account for a significant amount of time before they received the unlock email from Sulake, and for some people the link has not properly unlocked their account.
Sulake announced today that due to these and other errors that have been reported with the new system, it has now been de-activated until it’s reliability can be assured for all users. This was announced via a minimail that was sent to all users that had the feature enabled at the time of its deactivation.
I think that the deactivation of this new feature is a good idea. I think this because if something that can cause great inconvenience if it is used for the majority of the Habbo community. The feature was causing more trouble than it’s worth and therefore it is a good thing that it has been removed. When the feature is fixed, it will be a good feature and I am sure that we will all welcome it back, but until then I am sure we can all manage without it.
You’ve heard what I think, but what do you think?
