Habbo has been working hard to sparkle itself up in the run-up to the most festive celebration of all- Christmas. Before you know it Christmas furniture will be released and there will be plenty of joyous pixels running around with Santa hats. With this, the client itself is expected to get a festive update, with a Christmas version of the beloved hotel/landing view.
In recent exclusive images, the actual landing view will feature a beautiful starry background of a Christmas night illuminating your computer screens, with a Habbo standing outside of a gothic-like mansion (Habbo have managed to miraculously rebuild the whole architectural concept of the hotel). As per tradition, we can also see that a new ‘Xmas’ badge will be available in which there is a chance to win a lump-sum of 10 credits– echoing the tradition of giving. However, the feature that is really getting Habbos far and wide worked-up is the re-introduction of the beloved advent calendar. One reason as to why this has caused excitement is competitions and prizes. The advent calendar is expected to symbolize the various competitions throughout the month of December, leading up to Christmas Day.
Reaction to this layout has been mixed. There is a consensus that the advent calendar is a fantastic feature. Yet, there is skepticism over the actual layout. Although, my dear reader, I am not an architect, I can see why this may cause fluster within the Habbo community. The feel in parts of the layout, especially the gothic architecture seems to coincide more with Halloween, rather than Christmas. Also, the atmosphere seems dark and gloomy, especially with the use of darker colours. The layout itself has not officially launched. However, it is expected to be released within the next week or two, with a December 1st release date being a high probability.
