The CW network has renewed the long running TV series Supergirl. Alongside this news actress Katie McGrath, who is best known for starring as Morgana on the TV show Merlin, has now been promoted to as a Series Regular for Supergirl this season.
Katie plays Lena Luthor on SuperGirl and Jessica Qualler, who is the executive producer on the show, has come forward and revealed details involving McGrath’s character. Jessica said, “There’s a big reveal [involving Lena] that will enrage Supergirl and the DEO. It turns into an epic battle of wills between the two women. I wouldn’t want to miss it!”
Rumors have been circulating about whether this say that Lena will be following in the footsteps of Lex Luthor (was played by Aidan Fink ). As for Lena she is revealed as a strong and confident business woman and she is said to be best friends with Kara/Supergirl. Her character is currently dating James Olsen (played by Mehcad Brooks).
As for the premiere episode the details have been revealed and its firstly been revealed that Laurie Metcalf, who is an Oscar nominee, will guest star in the episode. As for the episode its synopsis is,
When Winn’s (Jeremy Jordan) father dies, his estranged mother, Mary (guest star Laurie Metcalf), reappears trying to reconnect and to explain why she abandoned him all those years ago. Winn is too embittered from his rough childhood to forgive her but when a copycat Toyman attacks, the two must work together to stop him. In other news, Mon-El (Chris Wood) tells Kara (Melissa Benoist) something important about the Worldkillers, and Alex (Chyler Leigh) becomes suspicious of Myr’nn’s (guest star Carl Lumbly) recent behavior.
