A Habbox with no graphics would be very boring, all you would be looking at right now would be a blank page of text! The Graphics Department is a little-known cluster of staff who work away behind the scenes to get all those images you see on the Habbox sites on your screens. Almost all of the graphics you see have been drawn up by these hard working Pixel Artists and Graphic Designers, so next time you bump into someone from the team give them some praise.
The current Graphics Manager is ExtraKen.
Much like other Content departments, Graphics staff don’t get a lot of recognition for the work they do. However, they all chip in when it comes to giving advice – whether this is to other staff members or within the Graphics forums where people can post their artwork for advice.
As well as producing the graphics for managers to use, the Graphics department also hosts regular competitions related to their field: a drawing and a photography competition. These competitions give Habbox members the chance to show off their artistic skills with the opportunity to win a prize!

The Graphics department has been around from the very start of Habbox. It has had many managers through the years, but very rarely an Assistant Manager. Historically, the department is a rather small – around 5-10 staff members, although Drew expanded this significantly in 2014-2015 with the introduction of the Pixel Art department.
Through the years, Habbox’s Graphic Designers have consistently produced high-quality graphics for use on all of the sites – past, present and future – as well as larger tasks such as site and forum skins, which the team occasionally works on as a whole. They also provide images for use on Habbox’s social media sites and badges/graphics for Habbox’s official events on the Habbo client.
On 1st December 2014, Drew and lawrawrrr brought back a sub-department which had been dissolved many years previously and absorbed into the Graphic Designer’s responsibility. The staff work closely together, but dedicated Pixel Artists mean that the detailed graphics get more attention.

There are different roles in the Graphics department: to ensure graphics are being created; they’re of a high quality and making sure everyone gets to advertise and interact with the community on a day to day basis, using the forum. Each staff member has regular contact with the (Assistant) Manager, where they would go to seek help and advice.
||They create pieces of pixel art for a variety of Habbox graphic requests, such as designing the userbar (and icon) for subscriptions, creating a unique badge to be used on Habbo or altering characters into all kinds of funky positions.
||They are expected to participate in tasks that are posted by other department managers. They make artwork like banners, avatars and signatures to use around the Habbox community.
|Senior Pixel Artist/Graphic Designers
||They overlook and give advice to members of their teams on the quality of their work, as well as teaching them tips and tricks to help them improve. They assist in the admin side of the department, making sure the staff are completing minimums, and also contribute to staff reports. They do this all at the same time as continuing to make their graphics and artwork!
|The (Assistant) Manager(s)
||They ensure that the quality of graphics are top notch and the Graphics Staff are working. The Graphics Manager does jobs around the graphics forum such as moving tasks when they are complete and writing weekly feedback and monthly reports to give feedback to the Graphics Designers when they post their work.
