Matt Bellamy of MuseA large majority of the acts set to play the famous events were posted at 7pm on the dot, with fans rushing to purchase their tickets that went on sale at quarter past.

With three sets of acts that will cover seven stages at each location over the three day bank holiday weekend, the rumours of the headliners proved to be true with My Chemical Romance, The Strokes and Muse sharing the top billing for the festivals. Other big acts set to perform infront of the huge audience on the main stage include Elbow, Pulp, Thirty Second to Mars and Interpol.

'The Sims Medieval' Rides into Habbo!0
By - Posted at 9:09 pm

Complete a quest and win yourself a badge, or enter a poll and win a homepage sticker, all because of ‘The Sims Medieval’!The game cover for 'The Sims Medieval'!

‘The Sims Medieval’ is a brand new game for PC’s and Macs that doesn’t involve you buying a base game first, unlike previous Sims games, which required expansion packs to experience new features such as locations and clothing. The game is centred around the Medieval era, you’ll be able to catch the dreaded plague, complete valiant quests and even face the possibility of death! A particular change that’s been made is that your players no longer go through the life stages which make them progress from children to teenagers and teenagers to adults. However you are still able to have children with your chosen spouse, it’s just that they will never grow up. In the lead up to it’s release on March 25th, Habbo are giving you the chance to win an Official badge and homepage sticker!

Winning the badge involves you completing a quest, and once again Habbo are asking you to use your detective skills to figure out the 6 Medieval professions being described on the sticky notes. There are 10 in total, Bard, Spy, Physician, Knight, Wizard, Jacoban Priest, Merchant, Peteran Priest, Blacksmith and Monarch. To enter the quest room, open up your Hotel Navigator and look under the tab entitled, ‘Quest Floor’, under this you will see the 2 rooms needed to win the Badge and Homepage Sticker. The room you need to win your badge is called, ‘The Sims Medieval Quest’. As soon as you have your answers head over to the Habbo article here and post them in the form at the bottom of the page.

Not interested in the quest? Well there’s still something in it for you. Habbo want to know what your chosen Medieval profession would be were you living in that time period. The professions are all listed above but you can also check out them out on the Official site, where you’ll find lots of other fun things including the trailer to the game. You can also pre-order the game there too. When you’ve decided upon your profession, head over to ‘The Sims Medieval Library’ in the Hotel and fill in the form with your answer. When you’ve given your answer you’ll be given a new sticker to display on your Habbo Homepage!

So what are you waiting for? That quest won’t complete itself you know!

Winter Returns!0
By - Posted at 9:09 pm

The winter weather has made an unwelcome appearance today!56untitledwinter.png

Winter is set to make an unwelcome return today as parts of Britain are set to be covered by up to 4 inches of snow. Weather forecasters have said that is a strong chance of snow in the north of England, Northern Ireland and Scotland, and there is a risk of blizzard conditions.

The remainder of the country will be hit by rain and strong winds. On Thursday night a weather warning was issued by the met office for heavy snow in several regions. This was after a day of gales and snow flurries north of the border.

Weather warnings are now in place for the next two days in Scotland and today in England. In England, the snow showers will be accompanied by strong winds and gusting up to 30mph. Although the rest of Britain will escape the snow, it will be a dull and wet weekend.

It was the coldest December for 100 years, which has delayed the start of the early spring flowers like crocuses and daffodils by up to three weeks.

I love the snow and all that, but I do hate it when it puts of the spring.

Subway Beats McDonalds0

Subway beats the famous McDonalds off the top of the fast food sellers97untitledsubway.png

McDonalds have been knocked off its perch at the top of the fast food sellers, by Subway who now has more restaurants around the world. At the end of last year McDonalds had 33,737 food outlets but Subway had 33,749.

The sandwich chain outlets include bowling alleys, one in Germany on a riverboat and one in Buffalo USA, there’s even one in a church. Recently they opened their first restaurant in Vietnam.

In Britain, Subway is a feature in the High Street and has more than 1,500 outlets throughout the country, where McDonalds only have 1,197. The success of Subway is down to it being willing to open restaurants in unusual places and keeping late opening hours. Experts say that the restaurants are basically turning into kebab shops for drunken pub goers.

McDonalds ‘Big Mac’ contains 30g of fat, but Subway can boost a range of made – to – order 6″ filled rolls which contain as much as five times less. Subway was founded in 1965 by an American teenage entrepreneur, Fred DeLuca, with just $1000. The first outlet was in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The launch of the first British outlet was in 1996 in Brighton.

I’ve got to admit that Subway is much nicer than McDonald. However, I’d still go into McDonalds.

Potter Star Gives Up University0

One of the main characters from the film Harry Potter gives up university!46untitledemmawatson.png

Harry Potter fans were stunned when Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger, revealed that she was going to put her acting career on hold so that she could go to university. However, after enrolling at Brown University in America, Emma Watson decided to postpone her studies.

She announced on her website that she had decided to finish her work on Harry Potter (which comes out this summer) and to concentrate on her other acting and professional projects.

She will continue to work on her degree for her study of European Women’s History, but said that it will take a little longer as being a student and fulfilling her other commitments had become too much hard work.
