In order to help users stay safe while hanging out in Habbo Hotel, a number of tools and features have been added over the years. However, there is only so much Habbo Staff can do to ensure your safety and there are some rules that you should follow to ensure your own safety too. Here is a guideline you should follow to maintain your own safety while playing Habbo Hotel.
Protect your personal information
Keep the following information, and all similar personal information, to yourself:
- ● First and last name
- ● E-mail address
- ● Street address
- ● Phone number
- ● School information
- ● Photos
Keep your friends in Pixels!
If someone you meet on Habbo, or anywhere else on the Internet, asks you to meet them in person, say “no thanks” and let someone know. You should never meet up with people you only know from the internet.
Don’t be afraid to tell someone what’s going on
You should always notify a moderation if someone is making you feel uncomfortable in the hotel. If you want to report someone, select the “help” button that can be found on the top right of the screen. Alternatively, you can click on the Habbo you are wanting to report and select the “report” option.
Forget the camera
Think hard before posting a photo of you on the Internet because once it’s out there, you can’t remove it.
Be a smart surfer
If you see a website being advertised as a new version of Habbo Hotel or offers you free Credits as a reward for logging in, they are all false. Make sure you never log in to these sites or download anything. They are set up to scam you out of your hard-earned furniture.
What should I do if someone asks for my password?
Report them immediately and don’t reply. Remove them as a friend if they are on your friend’s list and leave the room. Your password will not come up as “*****” if you type it in Habbo chat.
What should I do if I think someone knows my password?
You should change it immediately by heading to Account Settings. Make sure you never change your password to something that another Habbo has told you to.
